Monthly Kudos – Marc Pritzen in Tour du Rwanda

Marc Pritzen, Callum Ormiston and Kent Main, along with a team of other strong South Africans, have just taken on the Tour du Rwanda, a race that has been part of the UCI Africa Tour since 2009 and always boasts a strong field. Tour du Rwanda was last won by a South African in 2013 by Dylan Girdlestone, following the only previous South African win in the Tour the year before, by Darren Lill. This year the youngster, Marc Pritzen kept the racing exciting by riding aggressively on every stage to secure the Mountain Classification in Stage 2 and maintained possession of it throughout the rest of the tour. Pritzen’s aggressive riding also secured him the Combativity Jersey for the tour.

Team mate, Callum Ormiston, had a phenomenal performance in the Queen’s Stage where he managed to take the Stage Win in trying conditions, Ormiston finished 17th overall after a tough 8 days of racing.
Kent Main, riding for Team DMS Pro Cycling, rode a consistent race throughout, going for the General Classification (GC), his hard work and consistency paid off as he finished 5th overall in GC, only 33 seconds off the winner.
We look forward to following these strong South Africans and the rest of their team in the 2023 season.
